Catherine Chung
Forward Deployed Creative, FLORA
Catherine Chung has 7 years of experience as a professional multi-disciplinary designer, where 3.5 of those years were spent at Pentagram under Michael Gericke. Her experience spans across marketing, packaging design, signage, type design, illustration, logo design, web design, brand strategy and visual branding.
Her extensive experience in the trenches of the creative industry has taught her how important creative thinking and reasoning become when working with AI, and she makes it a priority to communicate this practice to FLORA customers for a smoother tool adoption experience.
From our learners

“I have absolutely loved Cat’s FLORA Certificate Program. Whether you’re a beginner in the world of using AI as a creative tool, or have AI tools already integrated into your workflow, having FLORA in your toolbox will change your world, and there’s nobody to better teach that than Cat!
What I really like about the cohort is the ability to connect with other creatives who are on a very similar journey as you. You’re able to explore other classmates’ canvases and see what they’re building. It has been really helpful to see how other creatives use AI in their workflow and I find myself getting inspired by people in different design disciplines and industries than my own.
Cat has been a great facilitator, providing space for designers to present their projects and ask questions. Her teaching has been easy to follow, and you really find yourself learning very quickly because of how clearly she communicates during her classes. I think what feels empowering as a designer - and something Cat clearly states at the beginning of the class - is that creatives should have a say over how AI tools are used. I was admittedly a skeptic of using AI in my creative work until I took Cat’s course.”
Luke, Motion Designer, Nashville
“Catherine is an extraordinary teacher with truly extraordinary communication skills: her teaching of the FLORA platform has pushed me to find new creative avenues that I had never explored before.
The exchange with the other participants was also extremely enriching. Learning how other creative professionals are approaching AI in their creative work has helped me tremendously, and the program has given me a lasting creative community.”
Valerio, Creative, Rome
“As a creative director working across motion, 3D and immersive work, I joined FLORA’s certificate program to understand how AI could genuinely fit into my creative process, and it has already paid off in real work.
My team recently entered a projection mapping competition on a very tight deadline, and FLORA became our go-to tool for brainstorming and previz. It helped us move much faster from early ideas to a clear picture of the final look.
What surprised me most was the sheer range of functions and AI models available, all in one workspace. With Figma, Unsplash and Frame.io connected, I can pull references and keep my whole process inside FLORA.
Cat’s teaching is incredibly thorough, and she made sure we understood not just what each tool does, but how to use it with intent. I’d recommend this program to any creative wanting to bring AI into their work with confidence.”
Daniel, Creative Director, Melbourne
“Before joining Cat’s program, I’ll admit I was wary of AI. I’d seen the headlines and honestly worried what AI meant for my career.
Within the first few classes, that fear turned into curiosity, and then into confidence. Cat has a gift for demystifying the tools while keeping the focus squarely on craft and creative intent, and I left each session understanding that AI isn’t a replacement for my judgment, it’s an amplifier for it. For the first time in a while, I feel like I’m in the driver’s seat of my career instead of reacting to what feels like near daily changes in the industry.
What I didn’t expect was how much the community would matter. The people in my cohort became real collaborators. Through connections I made in the program, I’ve landed contract work I never would have found otherwise, and even though it’s a global group, we remain in touch, share work, swap opportunities, and cheer each other on.
I came in hoping to learn a new tool and walked away with a new outlook, a stronger portfolio, and a creative network I know I can rely on.”
Emily, Creative Director, New York City
“I don’t think I’ve felt this inspired since I first learned Photoshop over a decade ago. I no longer feel held back by an ‘overly ambitious’ idea: if I can dream it, I can prompt it, and I can build it.
So much of my career has been focused on feasibility and scale, which can be a killer of creativity. FLORA lifts those technical restraints, and its MCP and Figma integration connect it to the tools I already use, so I can stay focused on the core idea. Because FLORA understands and applies art direction so well, I get to be an art director again, and when the tools carry the execution, every creative gets to think like a director. FLORA takes us back to the spark and reignites the fun of what we do, keeping creatives creative.
In an industry fearful of AI, this program reaffirms that we’re not going anywhere, and if anything, we’re needed more than ever as tastemakers and protectors of quality. It’s been energizing to be in a room of like-minded innovators ready to put these tools to work.
There are a million ways to prompt, and in a token-based economy there’s pressure to get it right. Learning from Cat and seeing how my cohort approaches their workflows has given me more confidence in my own work, and the shared sense of wonder at how far FLORA can be pushed has me excited to keep learning from here.”
Emily, Brand Director, New York City
“I walked into this course expecting to pick up a few new techniques and walked out with a completely rewired creative compass. It didn’t just exceed my expectations, it inspired something in me I hadn’t even realized needed rekindling.
I discovered that prompting is so much more than typing instructions. It’s an art form in itself. The art of translating a vision into words, experimenting with possibilities and guiding ideas toward something tangible. It’s a way of giving direction to imagination.
Somewhere along the way I stopped obsessing over perfect outcomes and fell back in love with the process of creating. Ideas I’d shelved suddenly had places to land.
And then there was the community! I was blown away by the amazing talent, knowledge and imagination of the people in this course and the work they brought to life. It was such a privilege to be part of a community that made creativity feel so limitless and inspiring.
But all of this might have remained just a wonderful experience if it weren’t for Cat, our brilliant teacher and a true creative force. Her sessions never felt like lectures. They felt like invitations to think bigger, question more, and play braver. She has a rare gift for sparking a curiosity that doesn’t fade when the class ends. It follows you into your own work, makes you see things differently and keeps you wanting to explore. I’m already counting down time until her next workshop.”

Before you start
Do I need any AI experience?
No. You do need a little time in FLORA: we recommend at least one free Lab first. New to the canvas? Week 0 gets you ready before class starts.
I’ve attended FLORA Labs and past FLORA training before, should I still enroll in the certificate?
Yes. Labs and past trainings are a great introduction, but the certificate goes much further. It’s a structured program alongside a community that takes you from fundamentals to more advanced workflows, with guided projects, expert feedback, and a credential to show for it. If Labs got you started, the certificate is how you master FLORA.
How much time does it take?
One 2-hour live session a week, plus project work between sessions.
What does it cost?
$350, with FLORA usage included, so there’s nothing else to pay for during the program.
What if I miss a session?
Recordings are shared after each class, and office hours are there to help you catch up.
Do I need a client brief?
No. Use your own idea or pick from our brief library.
Can I try FLORA first?
Yes. Free Labs and webinars run every week.
